This week we’re joined by the queen, or mother, of lashes, Alicia Grande (no relation to Ariana, we asked). With an effervescent passion for beauty in her younger years, Alicia worked at a cosmetic counter and hosted a beauty radio show and eventually landed in marketing. When it came time to grow a family, she rejoiced at the win of two beautiful, healthy children, but struggled with the loss of her lashes. She met a chemist at a trade show who presented her with a solution.

She tried it, it worked, she bought the formula, quit her job and now, Grande Cosmetics has the number one selling lash and brow enhancing serum available internationally!

Alicia shares the hustle it took to get there and the marketing tips every brand owner and entrepreneur needs to know. Equally passionate about giving back to women’s causes, she sits on the board of Northwell Health’s Katz Institute for women and has donated more $700,000 to charities which include Working for Women, Feeding America, and many others.

On this episode we discuss:

  • Alicia’s start in the beauty industry and the transitions it took before founding Grande Cosmetics
  • Her struggles with hair and last loss after the birth of her son
  • Navigating motherhood, friendships, and family while building a business
  • Dealing with judgment from others in regards to growing a business and being a working mom
  • Why philanthropy is so important to her
  • Her take on controversy and lawsuits as it pertains to Grande Cosmetics
  • Marketing tips for other women and moms looking to start their own business
